Hudhud Cyclone Relief Work
Severe cyclonic storm Hudhud, with wind speeds of 170-180 kmph, made landfall on India’s eastern coast in Visakhapatnam, triggering heavy rains and throwing life completely out of gear on 12 October 2014. The gale, accompanied by heavy downpour, resulted in trees being uprooted and roofs of thatched huts and sheds being swept away.
Saviour NGO helped with relief work, offering food and supplies to the people stranded. Clean drinking water was distributed to the affected families in the village and an amount of Rs. 1,00,000 collected to help speed up the rehabilitation work.
